The Christian Education Committee at MOPC strives to provide Christian Education and related activities for the community.
Our Sunday School uses a variety of teaching methods to enhance Scriptural learning for all ages, interests and knowledge levels. Sunday School is held every Sunday morning from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m.The committee also plans other activities to involve the whole church family so that we can grow together in our faith.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Family Game Night – March 13th. Get your fingers and/or minds in shape. There will be some friendly competition!
Youth Choir Start – Beginning this month, anyone that is interested in participating in a Youth Choir will have the opportunity. Every Sunday morning at about 9:30 kids will gather to sing. Have questions…see Boni Henry.
Lenten Study – The Christian Ed Committee is planning a short term Lenten Study that will be held Holy Week. – March 28. The session will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a light supper, provided by the committee, and promptly end at 8:00 p.m. Lent is a time for self-examination. Please give prayerful consideration to this opportunity. Details to follow in February.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXES RELAY CENTER WAS A SUCCESS!
In 2009 Middle Octorara collected, packed and wrapped 61 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. We were also a Relay Center for anyone who wanted to bring shoeboxes to us to be packed in larger boxes and delivered to Akron Church of The Brethren. We collected boxes from many individuals and over 30 churches. Our grand total shipped to Akron was one thousand nine hundred eighty-six shoeboxes. Thanks to the many volunteers who helped with this worthwhile project to bring smiles and God's love to boys and girls all over the world. www.samaritanspurse.org.
