MIDDLE OCTORARA YOUTH GROUP 2011-12
The Middle Octorara Youth Group (MOYG) is a fellowship group for youth in grades 6 through 12 that have met regularly since 1978 for Bible Study, games and mission work.
TEACHING
Our Bible lessons are based on our belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. We also teach that the Bible is God’s inspired Word.
MEETINGS - 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
UPCOMING EVENTS
MISSION PROJECTS
Each summer for 13 years, MOYG has partnered with the REACH organization where teens from all across the East Coast spend a week at Workcamp doing minor repairs and maintenance for the elderly or less fortunate. As needed, the youth also help out those of our congregation and community who need maintenance assistance.
Throughout the school year, MOYG works on various projects:
- Chocolate Easter Egg Sale
- Organizing a Fall Fest for the church
- Sending off 50 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child
- Sponsoring a child in Peru through World Vision
- Supporting youth (s) locally in need.
Other mission projects include leading the Easter Sunrise Service as well as Youth Sunday Service at the end of the school year.
FUNDRAISERS
The youth in MOYG participate in fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds for our mission work: spaghetti dinner in the fall, soup and sub sales, Chocolate Peanut Butter & Coconut Easter Eggs, yard sale in the spring.
