UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
March 14th- Workcamp meeting at 6:00 and regular meeting at 6:30.
March 28th- Meeting 6:30 to 8:00
April 4th- Easter Dawn service 7:00am. Steph Frackman is going to deliver the message. We must plan the rest of the service. Remember to dress warm- I want this to be outside!
April 11th- Youth Group Meeting and yard sale preparations!
April 12th through the 15th- Every night we will be getting ready for the yard sale 6-8pm. Please find time in your schedule to help us get this organized. This is the HUGE fundraiser for workcamp.
April 16th and 17th- Yard Sale from 7am to 2pm.
April 25th- Youth Group Meeting 6:30-8
Mark your calendars for May 16th- Camp Donegal Family Fun Day. We will be painting faces and making cotton candy. (Cayla told me she wanted to paint faces! This is our chance to do a lot of painting.)
TEACHING
Our Bible lessons are based on our belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. We also teach that the Bible is God’s inspired Word.
MISSION PROJECTS
Each summer for 13 years, MOYG has partnered with the REACH organization where teens from all across the East Coast spend a week at Workcamp doing minor repairs and maintenance for the elderly or less fortunate. As needed, the youth also help out those of our congregation and community who need maintenance assistance.
Throughout the school year, MOYG works on various projects:
- Providing a booth at Quarryville Community Day
- Organizing a Fall Fest for the church
- Sending off 50 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child
- Sponsoring a child in Africa through World Vision
- Supporting Oxford Neighborhood Services by purchasing Christmas gifts for two teenagers
Other mission projects include leading the Easter Sunrise Service as well as Youth Sunday Service at the end of the school year.
FUNDRAISERS
The youth in MOYG participate in fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds for our mission work: spaghetti dinner in the fall, soup and sub sales, Chocolate Peanut Butter & Coconut Easter Eggs, chicken barbecue and yard sale in the spring.
